Growing up, Cassie Lynch spent time playing in her garden and exploring the woods near her home with her dad. When she got to college she realized her time spent outdoors was more than just a pastime, it was a passion.
With this passion guiding her, Cassie received her B.S degree in consumer affairs; business and environmental studies from the University of Wisconsin- Madison. She continued at UWM, receiving a master’s degree in sustainability in food production and corporate social responsibility.
“My focus on food came about the more I learned about the industry and how broken it has become…I felt a real need to make a difference.”
Today, Cassie makes a difference at Food For Thought as Product and Sustainability Manager.
In this position, Cassie breaks down common barriers by providing Food For Thought’s departments and customers access to sustainable solutions and environmental education. She also focuses on sourcing products that are environmentally conscious, local, minority-owned, or community-focused.

Following this philosophy, Food For Thought was the first Chicago cater to receive a Green Seal certification based on purchase of sustainably-sourced food, waste minimization, use of verified environmentally-preferable products, and conservation of energy and water.
